Oracle Hyperion Data Relationship Management (DRM)

The quality of master data is critical to the smooth reporting and operation of the enterprise.

Oracle Hyperion Data Relationship Management is an application that helps organisations proactively manage metadata across the operational, or analytical, layer ensuring that data integrity is maintained. Users make changes from the perspective of their departmental roles, while the DRM engine is responsible for maintaining the consistency of these changes in relation to corporate policies. One of the most important functions that Oracle Hyperion DRM performs is to centralise the process of managing and maintaining the metadata repository whether the metadata is managed for finance (cost centres, chart of accounts, business units) or analytical/management processes (mappings, dimensions and their elements, hierarchies including all attributes) by propagating changes to all dependent systems/solutions such as:

  • ERP system (usually chart of accounts and/or when migrating to new versions)
  • Data warehouses,
  • Business Intelligence Platforms,
  • EPM application models,
  • Planning and budgeting,
  • Financial consolidation,
  • Profitability management,
  • Strategic planning,
  • Analytical models
  • Mapping repository(s) for ETL processes,
  • Domain-based transaction systems,
  • etc…
